The 2018/19 Edinburgh Vis Moot Team
The University of Edinburgh’s Vis Moot Team for 2018 – 2019 is composed of LLM students from a range of backgrounds.
Caroline Michel
Caroline is from Sydney, Australia and is currently studying an LLM in International Economic Law. She also has an LLB(Hons)/BA from Australia. Upon finishing her studies, Caroline hopes to practice in International Commercial Arbitration, and Investment Treaty Law.
Bing-jie Deng
Bing-jie is from China and is currently studying an LLM in International Economic Law. With several past experiences of international moot courts, she now wants to practice in International Commercial Arbitration on completion of her degree.
Eliska Jelinkova
Eliska comes from Prague and graduated in law from University College London. She is currently studying a General LLM and plans to practice in commercial and international law.
Patrick Sharkey
Patrick is from Belfast and is a graduate of the University of Manchester. Prior to beginning his LLM at Edinburgh, Patrick worked in finance and travelled widely.
Hashim Mude (Deputy Coach)
Hashim is a qualified Kenyan advocate and arbitrator. He is a graduate and a current PhD candidate at the University of Edinburgh. His practice is centred on Defamation, media regulation and Public procurement.
Fergus Whyte (Coach)
Fergus is an admitted barrister and solicitor of the New Zealand High Court and a graduate of the Universities of Otago and Edinburgh. He is currently working towards requalifying as an advocate at the Scottish Bar.
